Martha Ramsay

Attorney Martha Ramsay has fought for the rights of injured workers and individuals for more than 20 years. She obtained her law degree at SUNY Buffalo School of Law. After working for a few law firms, she decided to embark on her next career move and opened her own law firm in 2004, where she has successfully continued to grow her business year after year. In 2012, Ms. Ramsay became certified as a Specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law. She will continue to run Ramsay Law Firm, in addition to Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt, P.A.

Brian C. Hunt

Attorney Brian C. Hunt earned his Juris Doctorate from Elon University School of Law. Mr. Hunt cut his teeth as an attorney working relentlessly on a three-week trial in Mooresville, NC, which is where he first met Mr. Dewey. Mr. Hunt and Mr. Dewey were able to settle the claim to the satisfaction of all parties involved. He then began to work as an associate with both Mr. Dewey & Ms. Ramsay, before joining Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt, P.A., as a named partner and being promoted to Associate at the Ramsay Law Firm, P.A.

Robert J. Dewey

Robert J. Dewey, Charlotte personal injury attorneyAs the founding member, Robert J. Dewey represented people in court for over 30 years, and set the principles that are still used today by Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt.  He began his career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Desiring to have more client contact he entered private practice.

Using his trial skills, he developed a practice built partially of clients referred from other lawyers. He began to represent injured people. After trying many cases, he attended a nationally renowned trial skills workshop through the Institute of Continuing Legal Education at the University of Michigan. Shortly thereafter, he was one of only 48 trial attorneys from all over the U.S. who attended the Institute’s first Advanced Trial Skills Workshop, by invitation only.

Throughout the years he continued to successfully represent injured people, both in and out of court. He passed his wealth of trial experience and representation of injured people to the other attorneys, including his skills in every phase of case development, from investigation and assessment to negotiation and trial.

Coming from a humble background, he understands people from all walks of life. Together with his wife, he worked his way through college and law school. After serving in the U.S. Army, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University. He received his legal education at The University of Tennessee College of Law where he finished 3 years of law school in two and a quarter years. Bob made the decision to retire from Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt, PA, as of January 2018. He will be missed and we wish him well.

The National Trial Lawyers

When a new client comes to our office, they are not handed off to a paralegal. One of our attorneys meets with each new client personally on their first visit to our office. We will discuss the merits of your case with you, listen carefully to your concerns, and answer your questions at that time, without any obligation on your part.

We generally only accept those cases that we are willing to take all the way to trial. Many of our clients have come to us from other attorneys who only want to settle cases as quickly and as easily as possible. While settlements are generally desirable and we encourage them, some cases need to go through the litigation process to achieve their full value. The decision to file a lawsuit is made by the client after a full discussion of all relevant factors.

With over 30 years of combined experience, we have the skill and experience to see a case through from the initial investigation to seeing the case through at trial. If you cannot come to us, we will come to you to make sure you get the quality legal advice you need.
